Is There Any Difference In Glass Area Between Infinity And Pella?

Yes. It is a small difference but, due to the way the frames are built around the glass with Infinity, you’ll get a little more glass surface area. Part of the difference relates to the way Pella uses a glazing bead. The glazing bead makes it easier to replace a broken window pane whereas Infinity would make and send out a replacement sash.

How Does Infinity and Pella Differ On Window Grids?

Like many window manufacturers, Pella and Infinity offer several different window grid designs. However, Pella offers only internal grids. Granted internal grids make window cleaning easier but, the external grids mounted on the exterior surface offer a more premium, up-scale look. Very classy.

Do All Window Manufacturers Include Weep Holes For Water To Escape?

The reality with windows is that rain will hit the window. There needs to be a method for allowing moisture to escape the frame in case of water infiltration. Many manufacturers use little cutouts with a flap built in to the frame. These are called weep holes. However, with the right design and construction technique, Infinity accomplishes this with a sloped sill. A much more elegant and cleaner look.

Which One Offers Fiberglass Exterior and Wood Interior? Pella or Infinity?

Actually, neither one offers wood interior. However, Texas fiberglass windows by Infinity from Marvin offers a realistic wood grained composite interior option called Everwood® which is both paintable and stainable. The look of real wood without the risk of dry rot and insect infestation. Pella does not have this option.

How Does Ultrex From Infinity Compare With Impervia From Pella?

Both manufacturers use a pultrusion process to make their composite fiberglass and resin frames. Pella uses a layering process of 5 layers and is then is powder coated in 5 available colors. Infinity uses and extrusion process which is acrylic coating that is integrated into the fiberglass cap. This finish method is smoother. Infinity’s pultrusion method for their Texas fiberglass windows allows the expansion and contraction of the frames to match the same expansion/contraction as the glass itself. Seals separation caused by weather extremes is less likely to occur with Infinity.
